buying my first camera for fashion and glamour photography, which Canon should i buy? Rebel?

i will learn how to photoshoot but i am planning on buying the whole set of lights also. There is deals in stores that gives a rebel with 18-55 mm and 75-300 mm,should i buy those?

thanks

You won’t need the 75-300mm for fashion.

There are a few lenses that glamour/fashion photographers use. 24-85mm f/2, 18-200mm VR, 28-105mm and prime lenses like the 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.8

That said, if you are just learning how to use a camera, you can save a lot of time and frustration by taking a couple of classes in photography. Spend $200 on a good Nikon or Canon 35mm SLR with lens and learn how to use it. Then you can spend the few thousand dollars on the equipment your really need.

Lighting kits can be a good way to go, but unless you know what you need, you can spend way too much money and end up with more (or less) than you actually need. You need to spend some time at a studio and see what they use to really know.

And the reason you are choosing a Canon is? Don’t limit yourself .. while Nikon produced the first DSLR, Canon’s marketing gave them the lead for a while, but now things have changed, in this new crop of DSLR’s, Nikon has taken the technological lead … Look closely at both cameras. Hold them in your hands and practice using them. See which fits your style of shooting.

You will really want to spend a little more and buy a Nikon D300 or Canon 40D if you are planning on shooting as a pro.

One beneficial aspect of the wedding photography is that many photographers don’t require as much time in order to get a high number of quality shots. Technology and advanced digital cameras allow photographers to get hundreds of shots in just a few minutes. This cuts down on time invested in taking pictures and the cost of having the photographer present, so even if you’re looking for a high number of shots, you may not be paying as much as you expect for the photographer’s time.
